I know many of you think that it is a rather bad game, but as you all know: I really like Flyff.
Description:
Flyff is a free MMORPG with a download around 500-600 MB, and around 1.2 gigs of space needed for the files. Everyone has an secret account name which they use to gain access to the server clusters. The server clusters are Glaphan (Mainly mine), Aibatt (Have one on it), Mushpoie, Kern, Lawolf, and Mia. You can create 3 characters on each cluster and use them throughout the cluster. You canNOT, however, move these characters from cluster to cluster. The reason that each of these are called "clusters" is due to the fact that they have 4 "servers" on each. There are 3 regular servers, the first one being the most populated, and a pk server (more about this in a moment).
Jobs/leveling:
Every character on Flyff starts as a vagrant. A vagrant has 3 skills which they can level using skill points earned after they level. To level, one must kill monsters (or leech off of another person's killing). Then they are confronted with a choice of putting skill points to different skills. After leveling, a character also is able to put 2 points into any of the 4 categories: strength, stamina, intelligence, and dexterity. If you play another MMO, you know what these are...so I will not go into detail.
After you reach lvl 15, you must go to the 4 different job trainers. If you pass the easy quests, then you have become one of the 4 first jobs:
Mercenary: Melee combat, uses FP to attack. Has strong melee based attacks, and few self-buffs. Seperated into sword and axe. The mercenary uses mainly chained attacks with a super finishing move as skills on it's opponent. At lvl 60 they can become Blade (very fast, very hard hitting, low stamina...use 2 swords or 2 axes to attack) or Knight (uses 2 handed swords or axes. Very large strength and very high stamina, with a great AoE).
Assist:The healer/buffer of the game. They are probably hardest to use because they have to put skill points in every attribute. Some become buffer/healers while some become attackers (have the first Area of Effect attack in the game)They use sticks for buffing and knuckles (like metallic fists) for hitting. At lvl 60, they can become Ringmaster (excellent buffs) or Billposter (not good buffs, excellent hits, has strongest attack in game).
Magician:Long range spellcasting. Fast levelers after 15 with super-strong spells. Hardly any stamina but large intellect. They also have the gayest looking suits in the game. One great thing about them is that they get a "Blinkpool" skill which allows them to teleport short distances. They use wands for long range boring combat and staffs for up-close combat (this is only when they aren't using spells). At lvl 60 they can become Elementors (use different elements to attack, but can't master all there skills because of how many they have. Great stamina and can use the element that a monster is weak to. They use staffs)) or Psykeeper (Lots of different builds, but they use non-elemented spells. They also have a great spell that reflects damage, and a spell that can stop enemies in there tracks, they use wands).
Acrobat: The long range users of the game. They are great hitters, such as magicians, but have low stamina. The two different weapons are yo-yos and bows. Bows require arrows, but hit something great. Yo-yos have stunning skills and such. All acrobats usually get the skill "Dark Illusion" which makes them invisible for a short time, around 10 seconds. This skill renders them almost impossible to kill. At level 60, they can become ranger (uses bow, has AWESOME Area of Effect skills. Use MP to use skills. They hit extremely fast with their high dexterity) or Jester (use yo-yo's to attack. Have a great many self buffs which strike to decrease and poison health. One great skill is Hit of Penya, which consumes some of your money {penya} to attack greatly at the enemy..they hit many critical hits...which has led to the creation of another class: the Bow Jester. These people can't use skills, but instead use Bows. They are nearly unbeatable because criticals knock the enemy down for a few seconds, so if they hit enough, the enemy won't be able to reach them)
Player versus Player fighting:
Until you have a first job, you can not PvP or Pk at all, but then it is enabled. On the 4th server of any cluster is the PK. PK is where people kill other people...not really for any joy other than to prove they are cool...but once a person kills another innocent one, there name becomes purple, and gets darker with each killing. This is karma, and at a negative, it turns purple. People go out and kill these purples, gaining some things in there inventory. PK is usually a great server to hang out on, especially around "lodelights" (spawning points) where the purples are safe from the attacks of purple-hunters inside the safe zone.
The other type of PVP are duels, which take place in the duel arena. People challenge others to duels (and some even have huge party duels) and the winner wins PVP points which they can earn titles with.
Other than that, there are Guild Wars which take place in towns and in the Guild War Arena.
Extra:
1)The title of this game is FlyFF, which stands for Fly for fun. This is because at level 20, the character can purchase a broom or a board (also a motorbike from another character, but they are WAY to expensive) and fly from world to world. This is great, and also there is a pretty boring, yet somehow fun, fighting system which enables one to fight on there board.
2)Another thing in the game is Gianting, which has almost become a sport. Giants are larger and MUCH more powerful versions of creatures. You also get awesome drops from giants.
3)If there was a "Boss" to Flyff, it would be Clockworks. Clockworks is a huge lvl 80 monster (really hits like a lvl 100) that many whole GUILDS go to face. You have to arrange a meeting with Clockworks through a GM, then you have 1hour to finish him, which is nearly impossible. There are many guides to fighting clockworks, but it is extremely hard. All of his attacks are Area of Effects, causing massage damage. Sometimes Clockworks "gets out" and attacks towns, but this is usually because a GM gets mad and spawns him somewhere.
I hope some of you play! Its a really fun game!
