My Play Station 2 has the network adapter and i like to play some games online. But, i am interested in having my own PS2 game server for my LAN. The idea is i have two play stations and one computer on my LAN. The LAN wont be connected to the internet. The two play stations will play an online game with eachother by communicating through the PC much like i imagine it would online. Is this posible or do you guys have any ideas on where to start? Thats how things are setup now. But, is the picture below possible? In the first picture my play station connects to some gamespy or sony server thingy to connect me to other players. But it would be cool if i could have two Play Station 2s on a LAN and one of my computers acting as the server.

It's a good idea. However, as I understand it, data transfered through PS2 network adapter is in a different format than general internet data. I haven't actually played with one, since PS3 isn't far off and will come with integrated internet capabilities, so I may not be the best resource. That's my two cents.

Im guessing this isnt really too realistic though. Im sure these servers have special software i wouldnt be able to get ahold of.
EDIT: Buuut... You see what these people have done with making runescape servers.... So maybe this could happen.

Now, it's all of matter of finding the uncommon knowledge associated with how a PS2 network adapter really works. That's those parts I hate.

I'm sure you could find it with www.google.co.jp. Topics produces many forms of language education media that is generally a cut above the rest.

Well i know i havent talked about this in a while but i still play KillZone for PS2 online and i still think it would be cool to play over a LAN. The PS3 is coming out after a while and i think there making a new kill zone game, maybe it will have a LAN option. Maybe i will get a PS3. 600 bucks is pretty high though. Grego do you have a link to a story about this guy that made a Phantasy Star Server?

I actually play on this server now. Not that I have a "story" or anything, but the server site that I believe grego is referring to is here: www.schtserv.comHe may be talking about a different one though, I dunno for sure.

You should just get an Xbox 360 and be done with it.
