So yes, school. The second exam took place on last saturday, and the final results are being posted out tomorrow.
Until then, I've got quite nothing to do - Plenty of time, so little to do. It's funny how I've wanted that to happen in the last few years of my life, and now that it has, I'm not as happy as I expected. Now I seem to just want to get rid of the time I have. So I pulled out some old PSX games from my drawers to kill some time, then it occured to me:
"Hey, I could make a school bus of doom."How is this possible? By Racing Lagoon, a rather lesser known racing game by Squaresoft (!!). In the game it is possible to obtain a body of a city bus, which looks like this:
This 3D model is quite well done for a PSX game, since it looks almost identical to the actual Yokohama city bus:
...But right now I want a school bus, not this piece of square junk! Seriously, who gives a crap about the city bus of doom?! It's
gotta be the school bus! Don't you think?!
OK, enough with that. But the real twist here is that Racing Lagoon lets you modify your car at your will, so long as you have the appropriate items. Of course, this includes painting the car. So, here we go, a much more school bus-ish city bus:
That makes it look much more like a typical American school bus than a boring city bus, doesn't it? You've probably noticed how the bus is shaped differently also. This is because I also changed the chassis of the bus; it's possible to dramatically change the shape of the car by using a different chassis. I've used a FF (front-engine, front-drive) chassis here, so the engine will come in front to make the bus look like that.
Yes, I have a school bus. Now I must make it into a school bus of doom! Let's see... how shall I make that happen? I might start by installing a racing spoiler:
...
Ew, that's incredibly small. Sure, it does look weird, but it's nowhere near DOOM! I need something that's more doomishly doomy, so perhaps I'm going to apply a GT-compatible aerokit on the bus:
OK, not bad, but that's too little for a change. I decided to remove the aerokit I just applied, and tried on a different one:
AHA! That's more like it, a ZOKKY aerokit! The school bus of doom is starting to get in shape... but that's still far from what I'm expecting. After a few minutes of modifying and undoing, I decided that it's best to forget about this shape of the school bus, and tried on a new chassis:
It doesn't look like a school bus anymore, but certainly this is much more doomishly doomy than it was! Hmm, lovely, too bad I can't drive this around and cause some little mess wrecking every cars on the roal and splattering a few hundred peds...
Now, shall I call this an end? Maybe, but just a little more hand wouldn't hurt, no? Alright, I could screw that ZOKKY aero and try on a C-Car aero... and try on a set of red wheels... maybe add a dragon decar on it...
...
and voila:
YES!!! This is just what I call a school bus of doom!! That doesn't look like anything that's publicly legal, but who cares? I'm getting this baby on the road and kicking asses of the other wimpy sports cars!
...Ugh, the thing is so huge it completely blocks my sight, so I'm going to have to play the game in first person POV...
Now, some of you may be thinking, "Dude, that's a freaking bus, that thing can't even turn properly!" WRONG, provided you have the skill, the bus can handle corners just like any other cars (the SBoD in action!):
Then you might say, "Well, it's still a bus! It's impossible for a bus to even compete against sports cars!"
WRONG AGAIN, the bus is loaded with a 780ps engine, so eat that you little nub!
(Note: The
Ferrari Testarossa is as powerful as 390ps)

Last minute note:
It is brought to attention that Racing Lagoon is a racing game, not a crime action (e.g. Grand Theft Auto). You will not be punished for violent, destructive actions, but is very little rewarding and interactive (for example, you can't go splatting peds since there are no peds walking around to begin with). You're free to make your own school bus of doom if you wish, but driving it around wasn't as fun as making it.
